The film revolves around the life of ACP Sangram "Simmba" Bhalerao, a corrupt and unscrupulous police officer in the city of Shivgadh. Simmba believes in taking bribes, manipulating the law, and having a carefree attitude toward his duties.
However, Simmba's life takes a turn when he is transferred to Miramar Police Station, a place where he faces significant challenges due to an influential and vicious gangster named Durva Yashwant Ranade, played by Sonu Sood. As Simmba gets to know the harsh realities of the crime-infested area and the suffering of the locals at the hands of Durva, he starts to realize the importance of his role as a police officer and the impact he can have on society.
Simmba's transformation begins when he witnesses an incident that deeply affects him. He decides to mend his ways and uphold justice, setting out on a mission to bring Durva and his criminal empire to justice. This decision puts him in direct confrontation with the powerful and dangerous gangster and his allies.
Amidst the action, drama, and intense sequences, the film also explores the emotional aspect of Simmba's character. He is greatly influenced by his late father, who was an honest police officer and seeks to fulfill his father's ideals and uphold the values of integrity and righteousness.
The film features powerful performances, high-octane action sequences, and elements of comedy, all characteristic of Rohit Shetty's style. As the story progresses, Simmba's journey from a corrupt cop to a fearless law enforcer becomes the central theme of the movie.
"Simmba" received positive reviews from both audiences and critics for its engaging narrative, Ranveer Singh's energetic performance, and the social message it conveyed.
Please note that there may have been other developments related to "Simmba" or its reception after my last update in September 2021. For the most current information, I recommend checking more recent sources.
